You cannot tell from the switches and sockets alone whether you need full rewires in Bradford. An honest answer needs your electrics seen and tested by a qualified electrician. Some problems need a repair or a partial rewire, not a whole new system.
A few signs mean it is time to have them checked. Flickering or dimming lights can point to faulty wiring. So can fuses blowing or a trip switch going off for no clear reason. Scorch marks, a socket that feels hot, or buzzing and crackling from a plug should never be ignored. If you notice any of these, stop using that socket and call an electrician straight away.
Living on extension leads is another clue. If you rely on them a lot, the answer may simply be more wall sockets. Landlords must also have the electrics in a rented home inspected and tested at least every five years. The report from that check sets the date for the next one.
To give you a straight answer, tell me what you have noticed and in which rooms. Send a photo of your fuse box and any recent electrical report if you have one. At CAN Electrical Contractors Limited I look after homes across Bradford and West Yorkshire. Have a look at how I handle full rewires, then get in touch and I will come and see yours.
